Boxee Secures an Additional $6 Million in Funding

Boxee, the start-up company that won the inaugural i-stage competition just secured another $6 million in financing. We say “another” because last year they raised $4 million from various venture capitalists following their big win.
There’s no doubt the secret to their success was developing a truly great product at the perfect time and getting amazing early exposure for it. You may remember that part of their i-stage prize, in addition to a check for $50,000, was a booth at the 2009 International CES where they were able to demonstrate their product to thousands of attendees as well as generating media attention on an international scale.
